As a younger artist, all I wanted to learn was how to draw the human figure. From around the age of 8 or 9, I've been chasing this dream. For years, draftsmanship was the main focus. Since entering my 30's, I'm beginning to appreciate the beauty, subtlety, and perfect harmony of Monet's paintings.
I opened a Monet art book yesterday and was captivated by his painting style. The works of the impressionists are breathtaking. Words can't do it justice. I am in awe of Monet's use of vibrant colors, contrasted by the control of values. After one master study, all I know is Monet's paintings make me want to study more, paint more of his works, and try to understand how he created pieces that emotionally resonate with the viewer.
I could spend the rest of my life doing master studies of his works. Hopefully, one day I can bring a fraction of that to my art.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
